Monday 9.14

Class: analyze data on vinegar + NaHCO3, introduce Avogadro's Hypothesis and the Mole Concept applied to gases

Assignment: read pgs 21 - 23 and review examples #1-4, review for balancing equation quiz (2)

Tuesday 9.15

Class: TOK internet activity can be accessed here.

Wednesday 9.16

Class: more examples on Avogadro's hypothesis, introduce the ideal gas law PV = nRT

Assignment: # 1-5 pg 23. and read about the ideal gas law equation on pg 24

Quiz: balance two reactions from word equations(you may NOT use your ion chart)


Thursday 9.17

Class: ideal gas law equation problems and introduce the gas laws (P1V1 = P2V2; V1/T1 = V2/T2; P1/T1 = P2/T2).

Assignment: read pgs 24-25 and review example on pg 25. Solve problems #1-5 pg 25.
